DVD David Copperfield (1935)
Digital Life Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - One of the best films about a Dicken's novel.
This is one of my favorite vintage films about "David Copperfield". The performance of Lionel Barrymore as Dan Peggotty is a jewel. Try the newest 2004 version (it's short, but very neat in the customs of the Victorian Era). It's a feast for the Dickens's novel lovers, the recent released of Dickens's literature in newest film versions. Even the free version of "Great Expectations" with Robert de Niro was very attractive.
David as other Dicke's heroes, fights against the adversity, and
is a winner when all the villains of the novel are losers.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the GREAT FILM CLASSICS, but why isn't it on DVD?
This is one of MGM's best Dickens films and contains some wonderful performances by the excellent cast.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wonderful Invention! It's called D V D!!!!!!!
Man, why this beautiful film still isn't preserved on DVD where it so rightly deserves is beyond me. Especially since the complete first season of ALF is released on DVD before this classic landmark George Cukor film adaptation of Charles Dickens's great novel. ALF!-The Gayest show of all time! The Skidmark in the underwear of 1980's televison should be destroyed along with other crappy shows such as My Two Dads down to the very last film negative for the sake of mankind's salvation.

Anyway, I caught some of this great film on TCM last night. (I missed a lot of it because I forgot it was going to be on and foolishly thought "Oh well, it'll be on a DVD I can possibly rent.") Boy was I wrong.

This movie is one of the best I've seen in a long while. W.C. Fields steals the show as the lovable but always-hoplessly-in-debt Mr. Micawber. That, along with Charles Dickens being one of my favorite authors is the reason why I saw this.

THAT AND MANY OTHER REASONS ARE WHY THIS NEEDS TO BE RELEASED ON DVD! NOW!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A serious side of W. C. Fields
Just a quick note... W.C Fields was a huge Dicken's fan, if you will. Due to that respect of his work, this is the ONLY film that W.C. Fields did that he never once ad libbed, he played it straight.
