Kitchen & Housewares Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter
Digital Life Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - doesn't last long
Buy cheap get cheap, only at $15.00 each, I don't consider this cheap!
I do like to help out our enviorment by not purchasing plastic K-cups,
but what is the difference if I keep throwing away the My K-cup reusable filter! I purchased 2 units and after only 6 weeks of use, both needed to have the rim superglued! This only lasted about another 6 weeks! I use the keurig because I liked not having to clean coffee filters...but I still am! Those little filters still need to be emptied and washed. I am going to try the new pod maker and Keurig pod adapter next. Earth friendly... make up a batch...use and toss!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - K-Cup filter
Bought this so I could use up several lbs of other coffee I had on hand when I bought the Keurig coffe machine.

Its easy to use and works well...one caveat...use a coarse grind of the coffee, as it tends to let the finner particles through and can produce some "sludge" in the bottom of your cup. It's more bother cleaning, etc. than using the K-Cups, but it is also cheaper.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - VERY durable and easy to clean!
I own 3 of these, and I've literally made HUNDREDS of cups of coffee with them and my Keurig B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System, and I have yet to have any broken screens or filter holders. I usually rinse them out after making a cup of coffee and then reuse them throughout the day, only putting them into the dishwasher at the end of the day.

I recommend a fairly fine grind with this device -- not quite as fine as you'd use with espresso, but fairly close.

My favorite use of these is to make iced coffee for friends and relatives who come over. You can crank out a few cups very quickly, pour over ice and a bit of milk, and you've got a VERY refreshing beverage that will please alot of folks.

Plus, using your own ground coffee is much cheaper than the K-Cups. I like to keep an assortment of K-Cups for company and parties, but for everyday use, I use these reusable coffee filters exclusively.

I prefer the taste of coffee made with a French press if one has the time, but you can get an almost identically-tasting cup of coffee in moments with these in this unit, and clean-up is a snap. This is one of my favorite inventions! Highly recommended.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - If your coffee is too weak using My K-Cup . . .
. . . don't give up without some experimentation. I finally achieved good results with 2 supermarket brands: Maxwell House Slow Roast and Seattle's Best Breakfast Blend. I added coffee almost to the top of the mesh, tapping the filter on the counter to settle the coffee uniformly with each spoonful. The key is to get as much coffee as possible into the filter without packing it in too tightly or allowing any grounds to remain on the rim of the filter basket. Use the small cup setting. Near the end of the brewing process there is a spurt of what looks like clear water. If you remove your mug before this final spurt, the coffee will be stronger. I simply swap out my mug with another cup and dump that last ounce or so down the drain. Now that I am happy with the taste of my coffee using My K-Cup, the only negative comment I can make about this accessory is that there is some slight splashing during the brewing process. But dealing with that still takes far less time than it did to clean my old conventional coffeemaker.
