Rating: - The Best So Far...
This is an excellent cookbook that you WILL use. It will not sit on a shelf in your kitchen! Tyler includes recipes for family fav dishes that you would be likely to make on a Sunday dinner or even during the week. There is something for everyone. Spaghetti and meatballs, stews, tons of delicious sandwiches, pasta dishes and desserts. All very basic and simple but delicious and innovative. Recipes call for ingredients that can be easily found. Color photographs of nearly every recipe included. Easy to read and an excellent conversation piece as well. Something for everyone in this book!

Rating: - Wonderful and practical
Having watched Tyler's show on Food Network, I liked the style and ingredients he worked with. The book has a wonderful grouping of recipes with easy-to-follow instructions. I'm always looking for tasty vegetable recipes and his Asparagus steamed in a paper bag is a wonderful alternative to simply roasting the asparagus in the oven.
Overall a wonderful book to create dinners for the family or for company, and fairly easy as well.

Rating: - Not impressed with this one
I bought this book based on my knowledge of Tyler Florence from the Food Network and so thought that his "ultimate" recipes must be pretty terrific. The first recipe I made was his Ultimate Ratatouille. What a disappointment. It was more involved and time-consuming than many other ratatouille recipes I've tried - even my own inventions - and Tyler's was just plain bland. Needless to say, I wasn't very motivated to try another recipe.

I realize that one recipe is not enough to judge a cookbook by, but ratatouille is one dish that's pretty hard to mess up and I was expecting much more than I got.

In any case, the photos in the book are beautiful and there is one of each recipe.

If you're a fan of the Food Network show "Tyler's Ultimate", this book is a must! I will readily admit that I am a major fan and these recipes are truly amazing.
