Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dark, Haunting, Stunning...
I had mixed views on the soundtrack to Batman begins. Although there were some good tracks, so much of it felt boring and dreary, and not a particularly entertaining listen.
So why is that a similar style is used in this soundtrack but instead it appeals to me, draws me in right from the very beginning and makes it's way up the list of my favourite soundtracks?

I feel it is some what down to a much better film (in my opinion), but the style of music is executed so much better here than in the first film. The first score tried too hard to be dark, this however has dark written all over it and it works. Oh yes, it works.

Right from the start this soundtrack is a winner. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard collaborate again, mixing electronic beats to grand, sweeping orchestras, and there are also touches of emotional melodies, particularly in track 3 - 'Harvey Two Face', which tells ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easily, One Of The Best Movie Soundtracks Of All Time
This has to be one of the best movie soundtrack I have ever heard. I'm already a good fan of Mr. Zimmer's work. The soundtrack moves very quickly giving you a mix of excitement and relaxation, taking you on an incredible journey. All tracks are unique and each have a different sound. You will wish that some tracks were longer, but the last track 'The Dark Night' really makes up for it at 16:50 (which is my favorite track anyway).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Dark Knight Shines.
With two great composers at hand (Zimmer and Howard) you know you are in for a treat when they both collaborate on a movie's soundtrack. Just like the first movies soundtrack "The Dark Knight" is just as good, if not better. If your a fan of movie soundtracks this is easily one of the best and a blind buy for sure if you happen to somehow not have seen either movie.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Moods not music
I have to disagree with all of the 5-star reviews out there. This is not a fantastic score. It cannot stand on its own outside of the movie.

It sets the mood, it sets the pace, but there is hardly anything listenable in it by itself. Tones, beats, but hardly anything palletable without the onscreen action.

I loved the movie. I loved the sound of the movie, but this score will fade after the basic theme of Batman is played. It's boring and shapeless.
One star.
