THE SHOWPRINT STORY ~ For more than 125 years, TRIBUNE SHOWPRINTS have been produced for rock and roll legends and regional bands trying to get noticed. Tribune Showprints were originally handcrafted with old fonts and made one at a time using ancient printing techniques. The hand set type and uneven registration gave these concert posters an authenticity that's hard to replicate with today's modern technology. Original Tribune Showprints were printed on very heavy card stock and measured 14IN x 22IN. Showprints were tacked to poles, placed in the front windows of storefronts and were plastered on the walls of neighborhood bars and restaurants. Our reproductions of these historical Tribune Showprints are made with today's latest techniques but just a bit smaller, 11IN x 17IN. We print each and every Tribune Showprint Masterprint with the same gritty care that makes Showprints so easy to spot and so cool to own. THE REST of the STORY: The Conservative Hippie: Wild Bill ~ Wild Bill is truly one of a kind. Defying the definition of hippie and armed with his eccentric ideals, this crazy cat has been hand-making and distributing showprints for over twenty years. His colorful past includes working for the goldwater campaign in 1964, and joining the Air Force in 1966 while most were trying to AVOID Vietnam. After returning from the war, he married, had three children, and opened Wild Bill's Nostalgia, The Home of Strange Things.
