Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - College Massacre
''Children of the Corn 4 - The Gathering'' is without a doubt, a brutal HORROR & GUT movie.

''Children of the Corn 5 - Fields of Terror'' was not as much of a horror movie, or as gory and gutty as number 4, but it was still a decent movie.

This on probably has the most common actors in it like Eva Mendez, Alexis Arquette, Dave Carridean ( Hope spelled It Right ).

As I said, CotC 4 was the best horror related CotC movie, but 5 is probably like the second or third. The thing about this movie is that, there was no plot to it, it wasn't about anything really.

Most of the deaths in this movie were caused by fires or electrocutions. The kid in this movie Ezequiel ( Adam Wylie ) was younger than most of the CotC preachers.

The farmer that gets killed at the very beginning was the preacher in number six.

This was an okay CotC

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Yeah, I'm biased - so sue me
Before I start getting complaints--or at least dumbfounded looks--from people who strongly disagree with my rating, I should explain a number of ways in which I'm biased here:

* I'm an easy date when it comes to horror films in general--as long as they're technically competent, they're almost guaranteed a 5 out of 10 from me.

* I have a soft spot for long-running series. The more horror films the better if you ask me, and never-ending series seem to agree with me.

* I'm a HUGE Frank Zappa fan, so the excitement of seeing both Ahmet and Diva Zappa in the same film--and with a bit of Frank-like blow-up doll action, no less--brings my score up a notch. (My only question is why didn't they have Diva's character kill Ahmet's character?)

* As soon as Eva Mendes appears onscreen, I fall in love and become hypnotized. By the way, great decision on the wardrobe, Mr. Wiley. ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - WHY IS KANE HODDER EVEN IN THIS CRAP!
YOU IDIOTS! Cease the sequels and erase them. Was Kane Hodder only in this for the money or just for a laugh. The original is all that should remain and no sequel garbage at all.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Getting pretty dull
This is the dullest of the CotC films so far, but it's too late for me to turn back now. Much like the last 2 ones, it doesn't seem directly related to the original film, but just another variation on the basic setup. The corn matters again this time, however, and He Who Walks Behind the Rows is back, though this time as a fire in a corn silo, for some reason. For most part nothing really happens. There is a plot, of sorts, involving the main characters brother who joined the Corn Cult and so on, but it's just another basic re-do where a pack of young people stumble into a town full of evil children. They stand around for a long time, eventually some people die, but not in a particularly intriguing fashion. David Carradine makes a brief appearence, and he's passably amusing, but the film hasn't got a whole lot else going for it. Also, the head evil kid isn't very good, as has generally been the case in this series. ... Read More
