The Abbess, who pretends to assist the young man, is an insatiable sadist who tortures her charges (usually half-naked) and accuses the innocent girlfriend of murder after the brutal death of her cellmate. This unsavory helping of kink delivers all it promises (nudity! whippings! lesbian sex between acolytes!) with ham-fisted bluntness and then sinks into a hypocritical happy ending in which the Grand Inquisitor himself becomes the paternalistic hero! Neither campy nor stylishly fun, this is for die-hard fans only. Rating: - The Not Very Sinful Nuns of Saint Whatever
The nuns in this flick are not very bad. They are plenty stupid, but not very sinful. The real evil in this film is the holy ineptitude with which it was produced. The only significantly bad people in the story, the abbess and the principal inquisitor, are merely crazy. Nunsploitation is supposed to be about sex, and there just is not much in this movie; what there is looks oafish and blaze'. The plot is trivial and at the same time too fantastic for anyone to suspend even a moment of disbelief. It pretends to a kind of Romeo and Juliet theme, but it is just a farce in comparison to even a high school play written by undereducated teens. The film could have been comic in this regard, but it is carried off so ineptly that it fails even a glint of value on that score too. I don't know why there are so many reviews blasting this film. As far as naked nun movies go. It's really one of the best I've seen, and I've seen allot personally. True it's more of a slur against the catholic church than a horror film, but it does have this romantic understory amidst all the lying,screwing and murder. I thought it was actually a well written story, and the insane priest was a really wacked out performance. The ladies were nice and the walling them up in the temple was freaky to say the least. You can't go into these films expecting brilliance. But this film was a little more tastefully done so to speak. It still has some great moments non the less and a decent ending. I think this one should get a better buzz.

First of all, I am tired of people criticizing these Eurosleaze/horror films as if they were expecting some Spielberg epic. No one but NO ONE watches these for the "story", okay? Complaining about the lack of story singles you out as a doofus, because you are talking to the wrong crowd. I preach to the converted, and as far as this film goes it has only a smattering of what we're looking for in this genre. The nudity is there...kind of. Not a lot of it, but enough to warrant some interest in the film throughout it's entire length. I was hoping this would be similar to "The Convent of Hell", an erotic graphic novel which tells the story of a group of nuns which mistakenly summons the devil, who then goes about raping them and turning them into nymphomaniacs. Rating: - Naked nuns. Can't be all bad, can it?
Although it isn't actually a horror film, it's still worth checking out if you're into the whole Euro horror/sex film thing. I am and I quite enjoyed this mix of nunsploitation and melodrama. It's better made than most, and not badly acted either. Give it a go.
