Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Frampton is amazing...but.....
The camera work absolutely wrecks this DVD.
First the music.
PF and his band are on fire. These guys truly appreciate what the world has given them, and it shows tenfold. They're into the crowd, the songs, the night, everything about this performance says that they're glad to be here. The song selection is a mix of both vintage old tunes(Do You Feel..., Show Me the Way, Baby I Love Your Way), and for the year the concert was recorded, somewhat new (Lying, Can't Take That Away, and others I just can't think of right now).

The DVD itself however is not quite so hot.
They employ (and believe me, it DOES look like work) the
"Lovely MTV Cut-Away Camera Method".
It got so bad that I had to skip ahead during Show Me The Way, as the cameras were switching back and forth (between roughly 5 cameras) at a rate of about 1 second, or less, between shots. It rendered the song (and ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Entertaining
I enjoyed this DVD concert footage as much as "Live in Detroit", partly because of the song selections. Some of the songs played at this concert were selections from his album titled Peter Frampton, that were not included in the other mentioned DVD. Good to see him play a bluesy number like "Can't Take that Away" and watch his guitar playing. Quality of the video may not be as good as Live in Detroit, however, but still nice to have for your collection if you are a Frampton fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 5.1 Sound is Great
This DVD is great - Fantastic Audio and Set List. I enjoyed this more than Live in Detroit - Frampton is younger and is packed with energy. I agree with some of the reviews that there are some quick cuts in the editing, but I did not find that bothersome.

The 5.1 sound did not break and there are no dips in the sound. I did not listen to the stereo selection, but previous reviews indicated the stereo track has low dips in the sound (I have heard of this on other concert discs too).

I had no problems with this disc and will watch again. Another great choice on DVD is Robin Trower....

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A++++++ Audio & Performance, B- Video. Very good overall!
Peter Frampton and his band are still playing at a very high level of energy and technical proficiency. This concert DVD is easily worth twice the $10 I paid for it at Walmart. The sound is outstanding and is in Dolby Surround. The concert is set at the legendary Filmore in San Fransisco. It has an intimate, classy feel, but the hall holds enough people and has good enough accoustics to give the concert that "big" feel that is lacking in certain smaller venues. Frampton feeds off of the crowd and the crowd responds. This same dynamic made the original "Frampton Comes Alive" album rock and roll history.

The only slight downgrade I give it is for the video. It's sometimes a little amateurish, but at other times it's fine.

Overall, this is an outstanding concert with superb sound quality and a wonderful artist-to-crowd relationship. It actually sent tingles down my spine, and gave me ... Read More
